Monthly Corporate Wellness Culinary Demonstrations

With the monthly corporate wellness classes, the idea is to build upon the previous lesson and remind people to eat mindfully. All the recipes are nutrient-rich, delicious and quick and easy to prepare. Each session is one hour in length with tasting items.

Slice, Dice and Julienne

Michelle will demonstrate how to use the proper knife for the proper job, how to sharpen knives and also discuss cutting boards.

Students will learn techniques on how to cut everything from apples and oranges to green peppers, onions and garlic and so much more.

This class seems simple, yet is a must for efficiency of meal preparation in the kitchen.

Energize Your Pantry

Michelle will share how to maximize the nutritional value of the food you eat by learning about “super power foods”…heart-healthy foods that contain a huge dose of good fats, fiber and powerful antioxidants. This speaking engagement will show you what type of foods to have in your home to guarantee a healthy meal every time.

Expect to learn about all-natural, whole grains, lean cuts of meats, beans and legumes, seeds, nuts, berries, energizing snack ideas and fresh seasonal locally- grown fruits and vegetables.

Tasting items will be an array of the recommended products.

The Whole Grain Advantage and More

An informative “Show and tell” demonstration on how to prepare nutrient-rich, energizing, quick and easy recipes using whole grains.

Michelle will show how to prepare an array of grains and then show how to utilize in different way and in other recipes.

Cooking with Beans and Legumes

Beans and legumes are an alternate protein source that are ultra-nutritious, packed with fiber, protein, minerals and potassium.

Plus beans and legumes have a great culinary versatility and are a main staple in vegetarian cuisine.

Michelle will start by showing how to prepare dry beans from scratch, including the proper soaking method and the process of cooking “al dente” so that the beans maintains their shape and integrity. She will share an array of interesting recipes ideas.

Seasonal Soups

Michelle will share ideas on how to create a home-made vegetable stock that will enhance the flavor of any soup recipe. Then she will create various delicious soups depending on the time of year and what is offered seasonally.

Salads/Vinaigrettes

Come join Michelle and share the experience of learning and tasting an array of olive oils and the proper usage in a recipe.

Menu to include how to make a number of different types of vinaigrettes, including Classic Red Wine Vinaigrette, Honey-Lemon Vinaigrette and Apple Cider Dijon Vinaigrette.

Students with also learn how to create accompaniments for texture and interest.
